Christmas and Kwanzaa are fast-approaching (Hanukkah is... pretty much over, can't help you now) and maybe you thought that you would know the right gift for so-and-so when you saw it. But you just haven't seen it yet. And who knows if you will in time? So if you're short of ideas, here's our 2012 gift-guide flow-chart.

For your boyfriend: Every boy can use a nice belt. And if he already has one? Can always use another one. Just make sure not to be too cheap and go for the real leather.
Reversible Leather Belt, Bloomingdale's
For your girlfriend: Fellas, we're giving you a hand too this time. You can get pretty decent lingerie for pretty affordable prices (but no Victoria's Secret, please!), so go ahead and pick her up something lacey and call it a partial gift to yourself as well. Honeydew is a pretty good brand and comes in all sorts of fun (and classic) colors.
Lace-Trimmed Mesh Boyshort in Super Pink, Candy Couture $14
For your dad: Daddy needs to have cozy toes, too! We recommend something that will keep his feet warm for the rest of the winter.
Three-Pack Cable-Knit Boot Socks, ASOS $18 or these if you're in Europe.
For your mom: What mother doesn't like things to smell good? They're all about that fresh-laundry smell, or cookies-baking scent. Get a fancy candle! They look nicer than they need to cost!
Voluspa 'Maison Metallo' Citron-Vert & Vanille Two-Wick Candle, Nordstrom $16 or Vacarro Orange and Myrrh $16
For your male friend/brother: We all know boys never really outgrew thinking it's cool to drink, and what cooler way than out of a flask? There are tons of affordable and fun ones on the market, like this
Mossimo Supply Co Mustache Flask, Target $8
For your female friend/sister: Unless she's a super tomboy, chances are she won't say no to some new nail polish! Essie is good quality, affordable, and has tons of colors to choose from.
Essie "Skirting the Issue" Nail Color, Perfumania $8
For your grandpoppas: A lovely ornament, Christmas or otherwise, will be the perfect reminder of what an awesome grandchild you are for them to hang anywhere in their house. Bonus points if it's customized!
Lunares Wishbone Ornament, Shopbop
SPLURGE:
For your boyfriend: Go for gold with some snazzy headphones! It'll sound good in his ears and he'll look good listening!
Beats by Dr. Dre Studio Headphones in Blue, Target $300 or these Bose headphones $135 (which, while not quite as snazzy, are actually better listening and cheaper as well).
For your girlfriend: A tip, boys: even if she says she doesn't care much for jewelry, she's lying - she'll still be delighted if you drop some dough on something shiny.
Michael Kors Gold Astor Buckle Bangle, Zappos $95
For your dad: Seriously, who doesn't love cashmere? Any man who says otherwise is lying. But really, daddy will love you forever (again) if you give him something this soft!
Cashmere Crewneck Sweater, Bloomingdale's
For your mom: A designer vase! Or probably any sort of kitchenware will do. Moms like that sort of stuff, right? Just make sure to put flowers in it - she'll be doubly happy!
Diane von Furstenberg Trésor Large Vase, $160
For your male friend/brother: Nice alcohol is the boy equivalent of nice jewelry - it's a safe bet! Just find out what they like and get them a bottle of the good stuff.
For your female friend/sister: Earmuff headphones say whaaaat?! Unless you live in a hot climate (like Brazil) these will make her happy on 2 counts: awesome music, and cozy ears.
Juicy Couture Faux Fur Earmuff Headphones, Shopbop $98
For your grandparents: Again, seriously, who doesn't love cashmere? Get them a throw to put on that couch they like to sit on! Or to snuggle up with some hot tea on those cold winter evenings. They'll be so glad they had that kid and that that kid had that kid.
John Lewis Lambswool Throw, $96
